Biography
Shan Wang is an active scholar in Management Information Systems whose research investigates how emerging digital technologies reshape individuals, organizations and the society. Her research program focuses on digital marketplaces and digital platforms, artificial intelligence, digital innovation and big data analytics. Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, and the Journal of Business Research. Her work is funded by multiple Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) research grants.

This is a long-standing line of my research that continues to yield new insights. Our recent projects explore:
- Digital platform resilience: Designing digital platform for resilient adaptation in volatile market conditions.
- Webpage and visual asset design: The impact of product imagery, description, and video content on consumer perception and product sales performance.
- Emerging Technologies in E-Commerce: Applications of VR, AR, and AI in digital marketplaces.

AI is becoming central to my research, and the research team explore multiple AI-enabled phenomena:
- AI-generated review summaries and user reviewing behavior.
- Generative AI model-sharing communities: Governance issues and ecosystem innovation in open AI communities.
- AI in education: LLM-based intelligent tutoring systems, and systematic literature reviews.
- AI in health and wellness: User perception and behavioral responses to AI-enabled fitness, nutrition and sports
