Robert Gordon among 2019 USask Alumni Achievement recipients
The Alumni Achievement Awards are presented annually to USask graduates who advance the reputation of the University of Saskatchewan and the Alumni Association. Award recipients are chosen for their outstanding achievements and innovation; commitment to excellence; community engagement and leadership; and contributions to the social, cultural and economic well-being of society.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Robert Gordon left his hometown and became an accomplished business leader who has never forgotten where he came from.
Gordon took his prairie work ethic and focused his business acumen on technology and information services. He has a strong entrepreneurial background having served as the CEO of technology companies including public, startup and restructured companies. Most notably, Gordon successfully led business information services provider DTN over a period of 10 years, from bankruptcy to a company valued at more than $1 billion.
Mr. Gordon is a longtime friend of the Edwards School of Business (formerly College of Commerce). He and his wife, Brenda, established the Gordon MBA Scholar Awards to encourage entrepreneurs with non-business backgrounds to add management skills.
