Enactus University of Saskatchewan celebrates three wins at Western Canada regional exposition, earns spot in national competition

Enactus University of Saskatchewan (U of S) secured top-three finishes in three categories at the Enactus Western Canada Regional Exposition, held in Edmonton on March 13-14. Their strong performance earned them a place in the upcoming Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary from May 6-8.

Enactus University of Saskatchewan is a student-driven organization dedicated to running sustainable entrepreneurial projects that benefit the Saskatchewan community. The team applies entrepreneurial action to address social and environmental issues, creating lasting impact through innovative solutions.

Led by Mohammad Iqbal and Sunaina Solanki, the team, which includes 14 dedicated students, proudly represented both the Edwards School of Business and the University of Saskatchewan.

Desjardins YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CHALLENGE
Champions: Re-Colour Project
Presented by: Jaira Dee and Saunya Vohra
Project Description:
Re-Colour is a sustainability initiative that diverts crayons from landfills. The project provides an innovative solution to reduce waste, offer art supplies to children, and teach the next generation how to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

TD ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE
Runners-up: Build-A-Business (BAB) Program
Presented by: Jason Monette, Harsh Satyadev, and Sunaina Solanki
Project Description:
Build-a-Business is an entrepreneurship program developed in partnership with SaskAbilities. The program aims to teach business skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities, empowering them to explore entrepreneurship.

Canadian Tire Corporation ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGE
Second Runners-up: Giving FWRd Project
Presented by: Rima Daniyali
Project Description:
Giving FWRd is a food waste reduction initiative that selects food nearing its expiration date and transforms it into meals. These meals are distributed in partnership with Crocus Co-operative to reduce food waste and support the community.

Thanks to their achievements at the regional exposition, Enactus University of Saskatchewan is now set to compete in two major events at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary:
1. The Enactus Canada National Competition
2. Desjardins Youth Empowerment Impact Challenge
