Gursimran Singh Sachar is an international student in the Master of Business Administration program at the Edwards School of Business
As an international student from India pursuing my MBA at the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business, I've embarked on an exciting journey of personal and professional growth. With a background in software engineering and four years of experience in the tech industry, including a stint as a Tech Intern at a startup, I'm now taking my career in a bold new direction.
When I'm not immersed in my work or studies, you’ll likely find me playing cricket, hitting the tennis court, or exploring the great outdoors. These passions have fueled my adventurous spirit and love for travel, qualities that have served me well in my transition to life in Canada.
Why Edwards School of Business?
Choosing Edwards for my MBA was a carefully considered decision. The program's unique approach, particularly its integrative modules, resonated with my goal of developing well-rounded leadership skills. Moreover, the school's esteemed faculty, inspiring alumni network, and diverse peer group provide an invaluable support system for achieving my career aspirations.
Another factor that sets Edwards apart, especially for international students like myself, is its optional year-long co-op internship program. This feature was a major factor in my decision-making process. As an international student, the opportunity to secure an internship after just 3-4 months of study is invaluable. It not only aids significantly with finances but also provides crucial Canadian job experience early in the program. This integration of practical work experience offers unparalleled industry exposure and networking opportunities, allowing me to apply classroom learnings in real-world settings and better prepare for my post-MBA career in Canada.
