On October 16th, faculty, staff, and students were invited to a presentation by Dr. N. Murray Edwards: “My Business Journey – And How It All Started at the Edwards School of Business.” Dr. Edwards shared his story and what the Edwards School of Business meant for his business journey. The event was well attended with several distinguished guests from the business community as well as the Edwards School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. Whether you were a student or a business professional, Dr. Edwards’ presentation was inspiring.
Dr. Edwards is one of Canada’s Top 10 business leaders and his influence is extraordinary. He rose to prominence due to his amazing business acumen. On July 24, 2007, the College of Commerce transformed into the N. Murray Edwards School of Business. Dr. Edwards’ investment allows us to gain recognition with our brand and helps to position the business school as one of the top five in Canada. Dr. Edwards is President/Owner of Edco Financial Holdings Ltd., as well as a leading investor and Executive Chairman for: Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Ensign Energy Services Inc., Magellan Aerospace Corporation and Chairman and Co-owner of the Calgary Flames Hockey Club of the National Hockey League. Dr. Edwards is our alumnus, continues to be a donor to our School, and has a keen interest in investing.
